10 days and counting till my hols.I bet the time drags, can't wait to be in Lanza soaking up some rays Im sat here freezing looks like I need the heating on. The fear of flying is starting to kick in already it has been 23 years since I have flown, and will only be my 2nd time flying, but I will do this lol I will have to because it is paid for, I am just glad I only booked and paid for it 1 week ago.At least the passports have arrived now so thats one worry down.
My daughter is excited now and has made sure we have packed already!
I find it nice that people around me are saying they have been to lanza and not one person has said a bad word about the place. The only comment that could be considered a negative by some is that we will need a light jacket in CT as it can get windy in the evening, but surely this is a plus after a hot day.
Anyway we are looking forward to visiting and hope to see around the island by cycles and buses. And meeting new people.
wish we were there now this 10 day wait is going to be a pain.
Lanzarote is windy most of the time, although the evenings are usually calmer. It's 6:45 pm in Playa Blanca as I type, and quite breezy. However, I think you will be glad of a cardigan or similar on at least some evenings whilst walking around. The other thing about evenings, is that is when you are more likely to get bitten by mozzies, so make sure to use something like Jungle Formula or anything containing DEET, and lay of the perfume. Also, in your room, try not to have the windows open with the lights on, which attract them.
The days are likely to be hot and the sun is very very fierce, so do wear at least factor 15 cream, even if it's overcast.
If you take these simple precautions, you'll have a wonderful time, and you won't be the one looking like a lumpy lobster! Do try to get around the Island, out of the main resorts if you can - it is beautiful.
Valfa - have a lovely time!. I've just got back to the UK 2 weeks ago and have already booked again for my 3rd visit in June and we've booked to go back at Christmas too!.
I sympathise with your dislike for flying. I've missed several holidays over the past 5 years through it and have only just learned to fly again (with the aid of valium!) I focus on where I'm going now rather than the flight and it works a treat.
