hi everyone

well ive gone and done it , ive booked a holiday to PDC and will be on my own

will be there begining of july for one week at puebloe apts , any tips for me , like where not to go on my own , hate being pestered for timeshares [ dont we all ] and being virtually dragged into resturants to eat . also looking forward to the old town /harbour + chilliing out by the sea in a bar with a book , l also want to go to feuteventura on the ferry is that possible ? and see the volcano on lanzarote , and maybe someone can reccomend some resturants in the old town/harbour where l wont look like billy no mates !!

anything else you may think would be helpful

cant wait to go
:D

Regarding Fuerteventura, it may be worth looking at some of the tours
on offer, by the time you have got to Playa Blanca to catch the ferry
etc it would be cheaper to book on a tour...

Just remember there is more than one Volcano on Lanzarote
more like 160+ I think.....Although Timanfaya N.P. is certainly
worth a visit...

I tend to find walking around on my own along the strip I don't get
bothered so much....

enjoy your visit

Keith

San Miguel Bar in the Old Town (Harbour) is nice for relaxing in. Do OK food also.
Stay clear of Centro Atlantico (main disco/bar area) if you dont like been dragged into bars etc. Very annoying around there :x
You can get a ferry to Fuerteventura from Playa Blanca, you can get a taxi or bus there.
If you want to see Volcano also you might be better getting a little car for 1 or 2 days as Volcano is on the way to Playa Blanca :D 8)

Maybe you'll find someone to have a holiday romance with then you wont look like Billy No Mates LOL

Enjoy :P

Don't forget though, if you are not a resident the ferry is not that cheap
even as a foot passinger. That is why I was recommending looking
at the all in tour prices to FUE.

If you are only there for a week I really wouldn't bother with Fuerte as there is loads to do in Lanza itself! And if you haven't got a car, there's not much to do in Corralejo if you are on foot - its nothing special.

If you do want to do a day trip then perhaps get the bus to Orzola and get the ferry to La Graciosa?

Re. PRs and timeshares - just walk straight past and a firm no thank you is all you need. Followed up by a fu*k off if that doesn't work!

I'm going with a party but all they ever want to do is shopping which bores me stupid. So I plan to go off on my own to do a few things. If you have the cash you might try scuba diving, which I'm keen to do. If you've never done it a beginner session appears to be about 60 euros - you might think that's a bit much to spend on a couple of hours activity though. I'm also keen to see Cesar Manrique's house which is near Arrecife and which you should probably be able to either go on a trip or under your own steam - I think there's a bus to it from Arrecife, the other people on this forum can tell you (we have a hire car). And you can probably do a day trip to the Teguise Market on Sundays. I'm trying to see if there are any walking tours as well. We will probably go to Famara beach one day as well, (not sure how you could get there) and we may try a trip to la Graciosa.

One other thing we might give a try is to go to the drag theatre one night - I understand it's family-friendly, so nothing too rude if you're of a nervous disposition (you don't sound as if you are!) You tend to find places like that embrace everyone...

You should be able to get a driving trial for less than 60e, I was offered one
for 40e the other day. Certainly worth a go, as something different.

Going in the sub at Puerto Calero is also something different.

The ryanair rush is a bit of a myth!

If it is free seating you will find that couple will split themselves accross 3 seats dumping the bags in the middle one to try and make sure they get a spare seat!! To me this is just an invitation to innocently ask if the seat is free........especially if am on the way back from a particularly heavy stag weekend where have eaten only kebabs and am sweating out ludicrous amounts of alcohol.

Serves them right!

Viking, as far as I know you will have a seat number.
They are trying to fill part of the gap left by XL.....
They seem ok but the time keeping can be poor

good luck

Keith
