Hi All,
I am a newbie but have been lurking for a while. Hubby and me and our two girls are going to Costa Teguise in 2 weeks. We went in Oct 06 and loved it, so have booked for 2 weeks. We were originally booked in at the Puerto Tahiche, as we stayed there in 06, but got a phone call from Travel Agent saying it is closed for refurb, so we have been moved to the Lanzarote Bay. We have read some reviews and it seems ok since it has been refurbed, but looks quite far out from the main area of Costa Teguise. Can anyone tell us how far it is?
Thanks
Colleen

Sorry for late reply...work, kids, housework, essay held me up! Thanks so much, looks like it is not too far.
Can I also ask....hubby wants to do the Timanfaya Trip this time around, Rancho Texas but through the day...and the Teguise Market but they all seem really dear....does anyone know where to arrange the trips cheaper??? Finally...last question I promise; we heard there was a sea life centre in Costa Teguise, is this true and if so where is it?? lol
Thanks so much
Colleen

If you are going to Rancho Texas from CT.Jump on the free bus at 9 then instead of shelling out for a taxi back, if you run out of time get on the free bus from Rancho Texas into Puerto Del Carmen which leaves around an hour after the return bus to CT.Then you can get on public transport from PDC to CT for around 2.5 euro's each.
Would recommend Rancho Texas visit its great.

If you are thinking of seeing as much of the Island as you suggest then the best bet would be to hire a car.
I'm not one for driving abroad, but I find driving Lanzarote incredibly easy. The roads are quiet and it's easy to find places.
We went to the volcano last month and it cost us 16 euros for me, my wife and our 5 year old son. To book with Last Minute Travel would have cost us 75 euros (I think).
Also, the market is literally 10 minutes away, but you won't find an organised trip for less than 10 euros per person.
We hired a car from AutoRiesen at the airport for 118 euros. It saved us so much money in the long run. You also get to see so much of the island that you wouldn't normally.
We also visited the aquarium, but felt that it was very expensive. This was generally the feedback that we got from everybody else that had been as well.
