Hi Trish!
Well... where to start eh? You've picked a gorgeous hotel. It's about a 20 to 30 minute stroll into town from there. It has a lovely health and beauty spa (I've been, and loved it)

If you leave your hotel, face the sea... and turn left... that takes you towards town. You'll come across a little row of shops and restaurants etc. Head upstairs in there, and there's a really good tapas place. If you head to the far end of the restaurant, you can grab a table that has views over to Fuerteventura.
From there carry on along the lovely sea-edge promenade, and you'll get to Punta Limones. That contains an Irish Bar, a Chinese Restaurant (New Brilliant), Alfie Moon's, a great chippy (Inn Plaice), a karaoke bar (Legends), a superb pizza place (sorry can't remember the name, but it's upstairs on the right), and Rooftops - which is the only English club in Playa Blanca.
After that, you get to the port - where you can do subcat excursions, or get a ferry over to Fuerteventura for the day.
Keep going after that... and you will get to the Town Centre. Oodles of shops, bars, and restaurants on the seafront. And a small beach there too. And one street back from there is the pedestrianised area. We love Mamma Rossa for pizza and Mexican. Keep going further still (about another 20 minutes)... past the half built hotel, and you get to Playa Dorada - the biggest, sandiest, and busiest beach in PB. There is a complex there called CC Papagayo, with a Burger King (well, you might just be craving), and lots of bars and shops. We love the Wax Bar, which is run by a friend of ours, Phil and you can print a voucher from his website -
http://www.waxbars.com. 2 or 3 rounds of drinks later, and that's your cab home paid for. We pay €5 for a large Tropical beer and a large dry white wine. So cheap... s tempting! And those are all day prices too... not just part of the evening. There's also the Powerhouse Rock bar there, if you want it loud! Carry on upstairs further still... and there's a snorkelling shop run by Tracey.
http://www.snorkellingdelights.eu. Right opposite Tracey's place is a small little snack Bar. fran there is really nice, and he'll look after you. Ask for his "pastelas" (sp?) which come with a variety of filings. They are like deep fried filo parcels. We have them with meat and cheese in. A yummy snack for only €1.50 each. We have 2 each - and it's a light lunch.
Another 20 minute stroll from there, and you reach the Rubicon Marina. Markets on a Wednesday and Saturday - and well worth bargain hunting. We always pop into the "Taberna" bar on a Saturday... because we like the lads in there - they do look after us. There is also Cafe del Mar, and Casa Roja (for great food).
Phew... I've written a blimmin essay lol. Anything else you need, then just yell! There's a few PB fans in here who are happy to share their experiences with you.
See you here in 2 weeks then!
Elle xx
