Chris at Marina Rubicon Dive School is the best (IMHO) I've dived with them loads of times and personally if you've got experience strongly recommend a dive off Los Lobos if you can as the eruptions under the water have formed like massive mushrooms and its great to dive around with plenty of marine life ... but strong currents there and so you've got to have some experience to dive here!
Have fun!
Phil

I realise this is an old thread but have just joined the forums and thought i'd get stuck in! Me and my fiance are planning a trip to Playa Blanca in June. I have always wanted to dive but i'm scared to death of actually doing it! I said i'd dive in Rhodes and chickened out. Anyone got any tips for finally 'taking the plunge' so to speak?

It's probably better to just take the plunge, dive in and immerse yourself in the culture.....

Hi Tinkerbell,

There are a few Scoobie doo's on this forum and I'm sure they will give you some advice, have you tried snorkling at all? its a good way to start and to get use to breathing whilst partly submerged, rent or buy a fairly good mask, snorkle and some fins and start off waist deep and just fin away whilst looking at the sea floor and the local marine life, if you feel confident go and talk with a local dive shop and ask for introduction dive perhaps in a pool or close to the beach...have fun... :)

Thanks for the replies :)

I tried snorkelling in Rhodes and really enjoyed it but it was a while ago now. Think I'll give it another go in Lanzarote before actually diving. :)
