Well, just home from another great trip to Lanza. stayed again this year at La Penita. Great wee spot and got a nice bottle of wine as this was a our second stay. really nice touch.
On the weather front, it was unreal. I have never known Lanzarote so humid on these dates before. Still, was fantastic to have such beautifull weather the whole week.
Favourite bar/restaurant this year was Friends bar. this was our first time visitng the bar, and i have to say the staff are brilliant, the food is great value and very nice indeed. Dissapointing food was aurthers bar across from from friends. they are offering buy one evening meal get one free. we stopped for lunch, and the food was horrendus.im not hard to please, but thought it was terrible. might explain why friends bar is full with people waitng for seats to become empty, and aurthers have to offer free meals and a pr outside. just my opinion.
Some other nice meals in, el patio chiquito, The Place, The Pecking Duck, Terraza to name a few. lots of good deals for brekkie about too.
took a tripover to fuertaventura for the day using last minute travel. did the shopping trip, found some nice places to eat n drink and had a good wonder about. found the train around Corralejo and it looks a nice place too. good value for 12 euro pp. we decided also to do the submarine safari in puerto calero. Although its a good experience, think its slightly over priced for what you get but still a worthwhile excursion,as not everyone can say theyve been in a proper submarine.
As i said in another topic, the most annoying thing was a family who just ran amok,playing football and tennis in the square at friends bar. they were in aurthers bar throwing balls to the kids while they drank, even smashing dinks etc at a table at friends. totally unacceptable, but cant blame the kids if parents are just as bad in throwing stuff about.
But all in all, it was the usual fantastic welcome, weather, experience from lanzarote that keeps us coming back. See you again at christmas!!

Nice report djjakeuk! We fly out Sunday to La Penita for our third year in a row. We are hoping for some more fabulous weather as our previous visits have been bathed in cloud!
We are determined to get to Friends Bar, I can't believe we have not been on either of our previous stays given that it is so close to La Penita!
We are looking forward to revisiting The Peking Duck also, as well as some of the other places you mentined that we have dined in previously.

Ah yes a top tip there, The Peking Duck will be our first port of call post unpacking on Sunday evening. Even without the La Penita discount it's still great value. Quick meal there then off to Friends for a pint or three!

I've never tried friends but do like Arthurs. But did anyone try Poppadoms next to Arthurs? I had a really good Jalfrezi the other night. The starter was great too and we all found it very good value. One of or group still thinks the Indian across from the Casino is better but the rest of us all really rate Poppadoms. Just a pity about the location (we were sat under the stairs to the bars upstairs lol).

We tried poppadoms, was quite nice. service was very slow though and one guy kept getting things wrong. looked like they were training him. but other than that pretty good

Yes, It wasn't here in March. It's directly opposite Friends bar in what looks like an old Chinese. very nice Indian food I must say.
