Hi, We have rented a villa for mid sept in the Montanarojja area...west of the Island.
We are on foot, no car, so how far is the nearest Beach, Food Shopping and restaurants.
Obviously when we rented the Villa, the ad boasted nearby shops and restaurants, but it is looking really far away from anywhere and I am a tad worried !!

Has anyone stayed in this area?

What is the name of the villa, and where is it? Who is it booked with? Let us know, then we may be able to advise.

Hi Walker, I am not sure of the name off the top of my head..it is numbered Villa 131, it is in the La Carabela developments.
Just off Calle Bajamar if that helps.
I've not been before, so I don't know how best to describe the areas.

OK, I know where La Carabela is, I don't know which house because 132 is your agent's number not the house number - there aren't that many on Carabela, but it doesn't make much difference to the position. There is a row of shops/bars about 5 mins walk away. Le Moka and the Snug operate together as a cafe/bar. Next door is the Lighthouse Cafe, then the Port of Call. All of these provide excellent food, drink and company. Most people who live in that part of town use them regularly throughout the year. About 50 yards away is a Spanish restaurant and a small supermarket. There may also be a Chinese, I can't remember. There is a bus service runing in a circle all day that will take you into the centre of Playa Blanca, or taxis are about 5 Euros, depending on the time of day. A normal couple would take about 50 minutes to walk into the town centre. There is a little sand and shingle beach about 20 minutes walk away, and a much bigger one about 25 minutes away at the Natura Beach, which also has two Italian, one Argentinian and a Greek restaurant, a cocktail bar and a beach restaurant all near to the Natura Palace Hotel.

La Carabela is lovely and your house will have marble floors throughout, and marble walls in the kitachen and bathrooms. You'll like it!

So you won't be isolated. However, unless there is some overiding reason. I'd hire a car, because there is much more to see. If you need any more advice, feel free to ask here or by PM.

I was looking forward to the holiday so much but was worried about not being able to get anywhere. We have a 15 month old son, so wanted to take him to beaches and so on.
I am really looking forward to it, I am so pleased I got to talk to someone who knows it so well.
You are right, our villa has marble floors throughout.
