Fantastic photo. Agreed here, also suprisingly inexpensive for a coffee and cake around 3 euros. Ray

I know PDC really well, but nothing of Arrecife.......
Is this place a real restaurant? And family friendlly? Would love to dine out with the kids over the New Year.
Agreed the photo is fantastic, looks like a great place.

YM Yes its the restaurant on the 17th floor of the gran hotel in Arricife you cant miss it its the only high rise on Lanza. I have only been for coffee and cake and its very reasonable. If you go new year I would check the menus, prices, availabily etc but it is a stunning place to dine. Ray

Great Photo, YM, the wife and I walked there from PDC along the coast route and it's about 8/9 miles I would say, there are a couple of places to stop for tapas and beers in Playa Honda and you get some great shots/views from the hotel. You should put it on your to do list for next time. it's 2/2.5€ for a beer at the top Have to admit we ended up gretting the bus back ! .............just across the road Happy Holidays Danny

Danny/Ray,
Great stuff, this is definitely on my list for New Year, as well as an afternoon beer I would like to go for an evening meal. Got a look of the Cloud 23 Bar (you might know it Danny) in Manchester (without the rain!)
The family wants to have a meal outside of the new/old towns when we go - this looks perfect!
Cheers guys YM

FYI - This is a cafe where you can get a sandwich (if there's a chef available as there wasn't last time I went!), cake, and drinks. There's a restaurant on the opposite side (same floor) but it's not cheap. Main courses were in the region of 15-20 euro's and starters 5-8 if I remember rightly. There's some cracking restaurants nearby the Gran though.

The first time I went past there in 1989 the building was an absolute wreck. It looked like something from Beirut after the civil war.
The tale I was told was that the locals wrecked and set fire to the building as it had broken the then very strict building regulations.
