Hey!! I'm coming over at the end of june and we're staying in Puerto Del Carmen but I've read that for Arrecife has the best nightlife. I was wondering if there were any "discotecas" that play house/techno/electro music or anywhere that gets any decent DJ's? Also, what's the deal with busses from Arrecife - Puerto Del Carmen? I looked on the bus website but suffice to say, I was confused! As long as there are busses that run, I'm happy Anyone got any other not-too-touristy tip for Lanza? Thanks!! Lu x

There are buses every hour during the night from Arrecife. Alot of nightclubs are on a smallish back road near the Gran Hotel. Head towards there and you´ll see a pizza place on the corner, follow this road and the music venues start to appear.

Hi divasylph,
Can't speak for Arrecife, as we only use the area for the airport.
Not sure who has told you that it has a better nightlife than PDC, but personally I dont think you need to move anywhere at all!
PDC has EVERYTHING, nightclubs, sex clubs (if that's your thing), bars, restaurants, pubs, you honestly could stay there a month and have a good time in different places every night.
Have a great holiday.

The main street with a choice of clubs in Arrecife is Calle José Antonio, which is easy to find, the clubs open from 11pm look out for Ococo, K-che, also there is an outdoor nightclub called Biosfera, this is on the seafront near the Cabildo (on the right as you first arrive in Arrecife).
The top local favourite DJ's are Pedro Diaz and Javi Sanchez, you can find some of their tracks if you search for them online.
Catch the Arrecife bus from Puerto del Carmen to Arrecife its the number 2 (linea 02) and leaves the bus station (estación de guaguas) in Arrecife on the half hour every hour through the night 3.30am, 4.30am etc or just grab a cab to get back.
There are plenty of clubs in Puerto del Carmen but go and see what the local Spanish nightlife has to offer too!

Cool, thanks guys! Not looking for an ibiza style 7 day rave but would like at least one good night out! Looks like we shouldn't have a problem I'm just not a "cheesy music" clubber, well not every night anyway. An 18-30's would be my idea of HELL hehehe. Thanks! X

In Arrecife, we went to a place called Tropicana, which had a Salsa night going on. I think we were the only foreigners in there, but it was fun!
As for PDC, I think all one's night life needs are catered for there. Personally, I would recommend the following sequence of events:
Start off in Ruta 66 bar at midnight (some good music and people there). After an hour or two, get on down to the Nikki Beach Bar at the Atlantico complex. After that closes, amble back up the street towards Ruta 66 to Club 928, then that's you until 7am. Magical night! Typically it's the 18-30's crowd later on in the evening, but there is a really good mix of folk at Ruta 66!

Diva - you were informed right - follow the info from Jules Li - that is bang on for a cracking night out.
If you have a little spanish that will help but the locals v. friendly and nice to see someone venturing out from the usual tourist ghettos.
