Never heard of Gold car - and that price sounds a rip off!!

Can't believe car hire firms are still pushing the "free" AC upgrade.....all the cars I have ever had in Lanza even the cheapest have had AC.

Just got a band F car for 12 days for £160 from Autoreisen.

Remember the rate goes up and down subject to the time of year.

i.e. The weekly rate in August is higher than in say January.

I've had really great quotes from Autosespana.com before and I'm thinking they are either the same or affiliated in some way with GOLDCAR. So glad I didn't go with them. :| Also, I just checked for 12 days when I'm next there and Autoreisen are only giving me a band A car for £165. So well done, you got a great deal foodie. :D

The rates do go up and down, but also you will be charged the Euro price shown, and the £ price is only indicative. So it depends on the exchange rate on the day you pick the car up. Just now, a band F for a random 12 days in Nov or Jan was €212.51, which they estimated to be £177.14, and a band A was €171.43 which they showed as £142.86 both assuming £1 = €1.2. Since the real exchange rate is nearer £1 = €1.15 at present, if you started your hire today, you'd be paying about £185 or £149. You certainly got a good deal, foodie.
