Personally I would have gone mad being stuck in PDC without a car but then thats my opinion! Others do!

Lanza is a beautiful island to explore - not sure why the comparisons with mainland spain and balearics - unless your comparison is benidorm, magaluf etc!

Have you tried Bilbao or Santander? Fantasitic cities and hardly an English pub in site.

First of all... Mit - thank you for being brave enough to post a review with some "less than positive" reviews of Lanzarote amongst your "likes" of the Island. Good for you! Most of the people who visit this forum are either residents, or hard and fast fans. Sometimes this can be intimidating for people.

Anyone slags off Playa Blanca? My hackles are up above my ears! But I also try to temper that with an understanding that PB isn't everyone's cuppa tea. Some of my pals would find it much too quiet for example.

Puerto del Carmen? Not my taste in a holiday anymore. But I am just one person. I know many people that love it... and that variety is what is great about this Island. I personally always enjoy my time in PdC now, with my clients and my pals.

As the guys have already said... they are catering to what the majority of PdC visitors want - and it worls for them.

Do come back (as you said) and get out and about. There's a lot to see!

Some of your comments are valid BUT, please hire a car next time you visit and REALLY see the island.
