Hi,
Just returned from 2 blissful weeks in Playa Blanca on Monday last - after months of waiting I cannot believe that it's all over now.
My thanks to all who answered queries/offered advice - it was great to 'hit the ground running' and finally get to eat at, among others, Brisa Marina (yummy, kids loved the nightly fireworks), Don Camillo (great play area for the kids) and the truly cool Marea Bar (went for a girls night out and felt like we were in a scene from CSI Miami!!). One place we frequented during the day, as it was closer to our complex and handy for the beach, was the New Orleans Restaurant. I haven't seen it mentioned on this forum before but I have to say that they were a wonderful bunch of guys, great sense of humour and really nice food.
But hey guys, the wind .... I was expecting wind... but wow! No matter what corner you turn, it's still blowing straight at you! Got fed up chasing my daughters sun hat down the road - just told himself to fetch it when he was running after his own baseball cap LOL. Was I just unfortunate or is the road to Sun Tropical (where we stayed) the absolute windiest on the island?
On a serious note, I found PB to be absolutely lovely, wind and all! I could walk that gorgeous promenade forever, and already miss watching the Fred Olsen reversing into the harbour (nifty parking or what!) I will definitely be back, and in the meantime will be recommending it to all my friends.
Thanks again for all previous advice guys - much appreciated
Maria

Glad you enjoyed your stay Maria.
Next time if you haven't already done so try exploring the island and it's hidden gems.

We love PB, thats why we bought a holiday home there!!!!
The wind we find to be a blessing, I couldn't imagine to begin how hot it would get some days without it!

So true cheesebag - on the rare occasions that the wind eased up you could really feel the intensity of the sun - a blessing in disguise without a doubt!
Thanks for the advice overhere - it was actually our 5th time to Lanza ( we stayed in PDC and Matagorda before) and we hired a car the last few times we were there so we got to see the entire island at our own pace. We decided to forego the sightseeing this year as the latest addition to our family, a 2 year old madam, would not have been impressed with being taken away from the beach! Definitely next time though, when she is past the nappies and buggy stage. It's a lovely island and we have always enjoyed visiting, but PB won me over - and we will be back!
Regards to all Maria
