On my first night out in Lanz myself and my girlfriend went out to get something to eat. We where saying at the atlantis las lomas apartments in pto del carmen. At about 9 o clock we left our apartments and headed for the main strip to find a restaurant. Close to where we ment the main road in to del carmen we came across "Davys Irish steak house" (unluckey enough) its in between linekers bar and the shamrock bar. We went up stairs and found that the place was empty..we should have known by that it wasn`t the plce to go..be hey learn from my mistake PLEASE. We sat down and an english girl came over and took our meal order..This girl was to be the one who ROBBED me of €20 later in the night. We finished our steaks (which were over cooked) and since there was no one else in the place i went up to the bar to pay te bill..BIG MISTAKE Again. The girl said that the meal came to €24. I took a €20 note out of my pocket and placed it right in frount of this girl and then looked down to get the €4 in coins out of my pocket. When i went to place the €4 on the bar i noticed that the €20 note was gone. When i placed the €4 on the bar the girl said that my meal came to €24 not €4. I told her i had just put €20 note there in ront of her a few seconds before i put the coins down. She said NO thati had only given her the coins. As this was only the start f our nght i knew how much money i had taken out with me and it was indeed €20 short. I told the girl i knew that i had placed the money RIGHT in front of her. I asked to see the manager. An irish man with long grey hair came out. Itold him what had happened and told him that i defnitely placed a €20 note on the bar. This mans name was martin.. whch i found out the day after. He would not listen to what i had to say and became aggerssive and told me to pay. I tried to explain the whole story but he wouldnt listen..Probably becuse he was drunk (there was a very strong smell of drink from him) To avoid being hit or Worse i payed an Extra €20. IThe next day i was talking to my holiday rep about the situation o the night before. She then told me that this place"Davys irish steak house" has a very bad name in the area at trying to rip people off. 2 weeks before we were there they gave another client of our holiday rep change of €30 when n fact they handed €40 iin two €20 notes. The girl behind said that they only gave her a€20 note and a €10 note. Just to warn you about this place. Hope yo hve a great holiday and you will if you stay away from DAVYS IRIISH STEAK HOUSE in Pto Del Carmen
Thanks hope ths comes in handy for someone and you dont get Robbed by this resaurants STAFF

Paul

That sucks thanks I'll avoid that place then. I wonder if I've been before when I was last at Puerto Del Carmen.

Thanks for the warning, I have read alot of reviews about Lanzarotte, and also found out about the Camera shops so ill be staying well clear of them too, nothing worse than getting ripped off on your holiday let alone the start of it.
I am out there in 3 weeks, staying at the Atlantis Las Lomas 1bed Apt, When did you stay there? Was it any good? There is only me and my fiancee going out what would you reccommend? (24&27 year olds)

you've got to try the La Botega resteraunt in the old town... you'll know it as there is a queue right around the building it's that popular.standing in the queue is an experience too as the evening rushes by. also there is a caberet act in the old town( i forget his name) but hes an englishman in drag and very funny...once again you'll find it easy enough as there are queues to get in...well worth the wait!
