Hi everyone,
Have they finished putting the huge pipes in at Los Poccillos beach yet ( close to Las Costas Hotel ) and do you know what they are for ?

As of a couple of weeks ago they were nowhere near being finished. As far as I know it's a continuation of the sewage/drainage pipes which were laid down the road outside Cafe del Carmen/Rancho Texas and originally came out under the ground just beside Las Costas. I'm sure one of the PDC regulars will give you the whole story or correct me if I'm wrong

Almost got caught out with this being listed under
Playa Blanca instead of Camen!

Yes, it's for the storm drains. Since when the work
was done, no one thought about where the water
would go when it got to the beach!
Anyway the work was still ongoing this morning
with some new sections of pipe made up on the
beach to be draged out and sunk at
some point. The barge with digger on has been
busy digging a trench in the sea to drop the
pipes in, hopefully in the next week or two
it may be finished, although I suspect it
will take a few high winter tides to wash the
beach back into a nice undisturbed state!
As far as I know all the work at the San Antonio
hotel end is completed.

Noticed this morning heading to work, all the pipes on the beach have gone
and the barge had also disappeared. The diggers are still there and the smell
unfortunantly
Hopefully the beach should all be cleared soon.
Will advise as and when!

Keith

Perhaps I should have kept quiet about the barge, since
its back today working again  However some of the beach has been cleared of equipment so its certainly improving.

Most of the beach is now clear, with just one digger left
and the barge so suspect the work is almost complete.
Took this shot last night...
