I think Tropical is 4.7 % but it does get sickening after about your 150 th pint!, spirit measures are huge!

They also seem to charge different prices every night.

I agree with the comments about the lager as they can get a bit sickening after a while! San Miguel, Cruzcampo, Tropical, Estrella levante, Dorada are all much of a muchness in strength I think? they all seem to do the trick anyway.

Spirit measures vary from really big ( Spenders ) to not so big (Mulligans, Ruta 66 American Cafe etc) basically I think if you go somewhere with live music the measures are shorter and the prices are higher but hey! you are getting the live bands so it all works out.

You need to remember that the glasses that some bars use are really small by comparison to UK where a tall glass is 12 oz in Lanza they can be as little as 9.5oz which looks as tall as the UK but does not hold as much ( obviously) so by the time you get two blobs of ice and it filled half way up the glass it looks a lot. The mixer bottles are also smaller so not as much coke to go in so they taste stronger. All a bit of an illusion I am afraid but as I said earlier they seem to do the job.

well they did for me last weekend!!

Agree with other post about the Usual Suspects in Mulligans - caught the accoustic and full band sets last Sunday night - excellent!!!
Also caught a bit of the bhoys in Charlies as well - also very good.

I assume that, since you posted this in the Playa Blanca section, that is where you are going, in which case you should know that the places tommyboy mentioned are in Puerto Del Carmen. In PB a 400 cl beer will cost between 3 and 3.30 Euros. In a Spanish bar away from the front, about 1.5 or 2 Euros. In the Surermarket, a 33cl can costs between about 38 and 70 cents depending on make, and a litre of San Miguel etc, about 1.20 to 1.60. Most of the above are between 4 and 5% alcohol.

If you go to Costa Teguise or Playa Del Carmen, I think you can get a large beer for 1 to 1.5 Euros - but I don't drink there.

We were paying €2 or more often €2.50 for approx a pint ( 400 cl) in Playa Blanca this summer in the British bars.
I don´t think we were ever asked for €3 and I know what my answer would have been unless there was something like live music to justify the price.
The Spanish bars usually ask €1.50 for a caña but that is of course nearer half a pint (200 cl).

Nope, not at 9.15 am, it's brain fade, but it's kind of you to cast aspersions, I'll return the favour sometime!

Interesting that the OP, a newbie, asked a question some days ago, and got several answers, but has not returned to say thanks, or even to comment.

Thanks aren't really necessary, although they do encourage people to take the time to provide information. It was really that there was a void after the original post, which in itself was an unusual question since it didn't seem to be linked to any particular reason for asking. People normally say they are going to Lanzarote sometime soon and want to know about a particular topic. As you've noticed, people are very willling to answer

"I cant sit on a computer all day i have to use it when i can (3 kids etc) and today is the 1st time" It's actually the second. On Friday you posted the bald question "And the price for the average beer?"

I don't know what forums you and darren76 normally use, but starting off by being sarcastic doesn't normally help.
