Hi,went to Puerto del carmen last November and stayed at the San antonio hotel (very nice) but are staying in an apartment this November. I would be very grateful for advice on places to eat on an evening that are not too expensive and also friendly bars.Thank you.

I went to PDC in June with my sis (we are 30 & 27), after a few wiler nights we found a family bar called The Barge Inn. From The San An you walk towards the casino and the barge is on the right before you get to lani's and casino on the left. They have quiz's and a funny compare something a bit different for a chillin night. We also ate at the Cangrejo Rojo in the old town and I agree it was great. One a little bit up from that can't remember the name but it has a fridge in the doorway and a chef cooking all the meat, you usually have to que but well worth the wait!!

I remember that there is a good supermarket near so can stock up on beer and snacks !! No I do not want to hire a car as I enjoy walking and do not want the hassle of driving.Looking forward to the sunshine so hope it keeps nice and hot.

Sorry I don’t really know the bars and restaurants up at that end of town too well but you’re not too far from La Ola which is definitely worth a visit, either for a daytime drink by the pool overlooking the sea or for an evening meal - http://valentine.h3m.com/~cafeola/dia.htm
Personally I always pop into the Whale-n-Ale bar (CC LaPenita) when I’m up that way. I also sometimes like a drink in the Grasshopper bar overlooking the small beach at the end of the strip, or the Ice Cream 'Parlour'/bar across the road.
Cheers - Ole

There is a fantastic resturant at the far end of P Del C just past Linekers Bar, cant remember its name or whether its a Lani's but it was superb, the steak melted in my mouth. It had a Green Frontage, literaaly two hundred yards past Linekers.

Is it on the same side of the road as Linekers ? if so, then it sounds like Ponderosa 2.
There’s also a Ponderosa 1 in between Linekers and the Galleon, which I personally prefer as it’s a bit cosier – original and best, and they always make me very welcome.

I went back to PDC for the 2nd time this summer, last summer i spotted a resturaunt next to the casino called La Ola but never managed to eat there. When i returned this summer i made sure i went there and had the most amazing meal ever. The food and service was to die for and i will definately be going back to La Ola when i next visit PDC.
