I am looking at flying into Lanza as an option for getting to and from Fuerteventura. I will be travelling on my own so a taxi not an option. So looking for the best option getting to/from airport to Playa Blanca ferry.
I know Fred Olsen run a free bus from or to the airport but it is now reduced in service times and I believe only runs one way.
I have looked at the bus service timetables but find them difficult to understand, it looks as though even although service buses run very close to airport that they do not go into airport. Looks like the airport is less than 1 km from the bus route road is it possible to walk to this road and would there be a bus stop available. ( I assume like Fuerty bus only picks up at bus stops)
Any help on this would be appreciated.

too far to walk.you would need airport bus to main bus station then change onto number 6 bus to pb.bit of a pain but cost effective.

Use http://www.arrecifebus.com for all info.
It has times as well as prices.

The walk along the main road is feasible but lots of seriously fast moving traffic and a pain if lots of luggage. Then you have to negotiate the underpass to get to the bus stop at Ropers.

Is the Fred Olsen bus actually free, or do you have to produce your ferry ticket? Bit difficult if you're getting on at the Biosphere to go to the terminal at PB!

This might sound really obvious but why don't you just fly direct to Fuerte as the flights to there seem to be cheaper than ones to Lanza. Plus easyjet are going there from Liverpool so might be easier to get to there?!

I've waited for that "free" bus to come and I think you have to prove you have a ticket for the ferry in advance plus the timetable is a little....optimistic!

Foodie just looking at other options. Globespan fly direct to Lanza from Edinburgh and I can get there with public transport or lift so savings in car park etc. I always go to Corralejo so no onward travel to other parts.
Liverpool involves a 4 hours drive and then add cost of fuel and parking and if I go on own makes package expensive. Will be interesting to see how Easyjet pan out.

Does the free bus Fred Olsen run to and from Airport or is it one way only?

I've looked at doing the reverse route ie. flying to fuerte, hiring a car there and then catching ferry to PB as that is where our place is.

At the end of the day it has never seemed worth the hastle and the expense - it really depends how much you value your time versus your money.

Its why I don't bother with the flight to Madrid and then changing their - I don't mind paying an extra £50-£100 for the convenience of I direct flight versus and extra 3 or 4 hours faffing about.

Maybe 10 years ago when things were different I wouldn't mind doing the changes but not now!

I did a great trip.
Taxi to Biosfera, bus to Playa Blanca, Ferry to Corralejo.
2 More buses to Fuerteventura airport, flight to Glasgow, change onto BMI Regional back to Manchester. 2 more trains and a taxi home. Sorted.
20 hrs, €125 all in, happy and what an experience.

I love travelling.

Foodie the bus service from Fuerty airport to Corralejo is good.
You get bus no 3 right outside the airport terminal every 30 mins to bus terminus in Rosario you then change to the Corralejo bus no 6 again every 30 mins and they meet each other about €4 total. I am sure the bus goes right to the ferry terminal or at least some do. Here is link to bus timetables. http://www.maxoratabus.com/tiadhe/rutas.htm

As you are in Playa Blanca and you see a good fare to Fuerty could be a good option for you. I have from the time of stepping off the aircraft, picking up case and getting the 2 buses been in the accommodation in Corralejo in one hour almost spot on. Yes everything worked out one of first case and walked out and the bus was just pulling in. Certainly quicker than taxi as there is usually a queue at busy flight times and half time of the package coaches. Time I done in an hour other folk on my flight arrived at same accommodation an hour later.

Next time I am in Corry will give you a wave over the water.
