I have in the past been able to get to Puerto del Carmen from Costa Teguise, by a single bus, but the current bus timetables seem to indicate a change at Arecife now. Can anyone confirm if the direct bus still runs, and what route it is please?

Think the confusion arises because the bus apparantly changes route number at Arrecife Estacion.
Unless it's changed in the last year that is.
Incidentally, can anyone confirm that the bus route around PDC has reversed since last year?

Along the front, returns via inner ring road.

We are just back from a long stay in CT and used the buses a lot. We did get confused at times as the Line 01 and Line 02 both seem to go CT - PDC although one is usually displaying CT-Arrecife on the front. One late night back from PDC we had to change to a minibus at Arrecife Bus Station but it was only a couple of minutes wait. I'd also recommend you buy a "Bono Bus" card from the driver if you expect to use the buses much as it saves faffing around with change and gets you a 30% discount on the fare. You can buy from the driver in either 12 euro or 20 euro form.

I am afraid I have to disagree with the above comment. The buses throughout Lanzarote are an excellent way to visit the Island. They run every 20 minutes between Costa Teguise, Arrecife and Puerto del Carmen, with regular buses from Arrecife and PdC to Playa Blanca.

@cymmon You have been lucky then if you always got the bus on time ) I wish me and my friends had the same luck ) Probably depends on the bus line you used..

I lived in Lanzarote for 2 years and used the buses on a regular basis, very rarely a problem. Maybe you just need more support for your website?

I dont disagree with your personal experience, I was just giving my & my friends feedback about the buses on Lanzarote.
As I said previously its probably some lines, but if I go on vacations to a new destination, I dont like to wait for a bus 30 minutes / 1 hour extra, and I suppose many people think the same.
Its better to inform everybody this can happen, not everyday, but sometimes.. so at least if they choose to take the bus, they will not be on a tight schedule.

On a 20 minute schedule, I think not.

I use the bus most days from Los Zocos to Arrecife. Never wait an hour. Never.
