Probably can cymmon, but phlloyd quoted an automatic, and they are about 50% ore expensive than manuals to hire as are convertibles and "trendy" cars. So the very worst value is an auto convertible Mini! Or a jeep that the small print says you can't take off road!

Why are so many people obsessed with convincing others to use the same car hire company as them?!!!
They are all of a muchness - except I would say that Medina are the most expensive of the lot - though have the widest range of cars.
Auto reisen, plus car, medina - I've used pretty much all of them - just depends who comes out cheapest on the web search. They all give "upgrades" though if was paying more than 30E per day would be expecting something pretty special!
I only prefer Autoreisen as they have the window in arrivals.

Good point, foodie. I think it was more the case of defending a misguided attack! Btw, several have windows in the baggage reclaim.

Err? Quote: I only prefer Autoreisen Err? Someone asks for advice on this site and people give it as their experience worked out.

But there is a difference between balanced advice - and saying you must use this company.
If someone had read your "advice" for example they would believe there was only one car hire company - pluscar - on the island. I've used them - and they were fine. And I've used many of the others - and they were fine too!!
I've had "upgrades" which frankly were rubbish - if I order a small car I want a small car - have you tried negotiating some of the under ground carparks in Lanza...?!

Reading through the thread, I don't think anyone was trying to force a certain company on anyone else, just stating the ones they had had a good (or bad) experience with. The only person who could give balanced advice is someone who had used them all. At the end of the day, it's only a week's car hire, not a life changing event.

Hi Walker, I agree with you. If someone on the forum can help and share a good experience then all for the good. I have posted a couple of items on here and sometimes they are seen in a totally negative way. They have never meant to be,just asking a question or sharing a good experience, be it about eating out,Playa Blanca or car hire or whatever, but it can sometimes end in a slanging match for no reason. Some people on the forum seem more guilty of seeing the negative side than others.

Force was a little bit strong!! I guess the point I was making is that majority of car hire firms in lanza are all of a muchness and that the only difference is on price - so best to use a price comparison site such as kayak to get the cheapest.

In my experience, if you want the cheapest then use carhire3000 on't interweb.
But then what do I know, I think the autos feber are good value and reliable!

But you have to be careful. There is one, not in this thread, which, according to another forum hits you for 68 Euros for a full tank - not mentioned when you book, which is much more than any hire car other than the biggest holds. So check what they say about fuel when you book. Some say it's full bring it back full. Autoreisen say it's 1/4 full or whatever, bring it back the same, but they are not precious about it. Avoid the ones which say it's full, bring it back empty, you are probably paying way over the odds for the fuel, which is just below 1 Euro a litre for unleaded at the moment, less for diesel.
