Hiya Flossie,
If you Google
Calle Cesar Manrique, 35510 Tías, Las Palmas, Islas Canarias, Spain and then click on
Maps in the top left-hand corner, you'll see exactly the street you're staying on and it's relation to PDC.
Calle Cesar Manrique runs onto the main beach front road, so how far you are from the beach depends on where along the street you're staying.
When you get to the beach road, turn right to get to the main strip. There are plenty of supermarkets, bars and restaurants along there.
Keep walking for roughly half-an-hour in this direction to get to the Old Town and the harbour (taxi to there will cost you roughly €3).
Slight "heads up" - be ready for the PRs outside Centro Atlantico (along the main strip/beach road) trying to get you into their bars. A polite "No thanks, not tonight" should be enough, but be prepared to say this more than once.
Turn left at the end of Calle Cesar Manrique to head towards Los Pocillos and Matagorda (another 1/2 hour stoll). Much quieter down that end and probably a nicer walk as a result.
Enjoy anyway, wherever you end up
