Hiya Flossie,

If you Google Calle Cesar Manrique, 35510 Tías, Las Palmas, Islas Canarias, Spain and then click on Maps in the top left-hand corner, you'll see exactly the street you're staying on and it's relation to PDC.

Calle Cesar Manrique runs onto the main beach front road, so how far you are from the beach depends on where along the street you're staying.

When you get to the beach road, turn right to get to the main strip. There are plenty of supermarkets, bars and restaurants along there.

Keep walking for roughly half-an-hour in this direction to get to the Old Town and the harbour (taxi to there will cost you roughly €3).

Slight "heads up" - be ready for the PRs outside Centro Atlantico (along the main strip/beach road) trying to get you into their bars. A polite "No thanks, not tonight" should be enough, but be prepared to say this more than once.

Turn left at the end of Calle Cesar Manrique to head towards Los Pocillos and Matagorda (another 1/2 hour stoll). Much quieter down that end and probably a nicer walk as a result.

Enjoy anyway, wherever you end up :)

hi flossie dont think all are ignorant as there are a good thousand or so villas/apts in lanzarote . we have stopped in the area via mare which is very quiet,in that area there is a few rat runs as the main avienda is one way and the taxis and homesteadders have there shortcuts. you aint far from the great little bar called spenders always good craic from geordie john and big spirit measures :o if you have any more questions on good food ect ask away and has pub spy states where are you stopping on the map....have a great time dixie :D

Hi Flossi.
As Pub Spy quite rightly says, looking at the map, you are only a matter of minutes away from the main Strip (Avienda) with its array of bars, restaurants etc plus the beach of course. With regards supermarkets. There is a Hiperdino (large supermarket) up Calle Anzuello on the right hand side to stock up on groceries etc; Also as the mackem says, on Calle Anzuello is a small bar called Spenders. If you are stuck for any info on anything Lanzarotean, call in and ask for John (the landlord) Great bloke and great spirit measures !! PS. the beer & wine prices in Hiperdino a very reasonable.
Have a great holiday
Mick
