Hi,

I am looking for a Karatae class for my son who is nearly 5 years old. We live in Playa Blanca and I was wondering if anyone would know if there are any classes down this way ? or in the south part of the island.

Many Thanks
Sarah

We were on the island last week and saw the Yazia team with lots of young children practicing martial arts on the town beach. In fact later in the week they had a competition against Tias.

You mean the kids in the yellow t-shirts on the beach in the evening? I thought they were doing wrestling or something...didn't look like any martial art I've ever seen! They started off holding each others legs, then did a kind of grapple thingy....could have been brazilian ju-jutsu or something, but it sure as heck wasn't karate!

Unless there are many different groups of kids fighting on the beach, that is!

Yes, we often stop and watch the kids doing the Canarian Wrestling on the beach. A couple of weeks ago, there was this tiny little lad who was trying so hard to keep up with the older boys. But he was so excited, and was hopping on the spot. I think he needed the loo!

Bless!
