we are staying at Hotel Barcelo...they do have alot of kids activities, but i was just curious to know do people stay out in restaruants with their children? I saw in a post someone said there a fireworks and so on on the beach at new years...so i wanted to know if children are also permitted to join in those sort of celebrations?

Like all of Spain the canaries are child friendly. Infact it's quite normal to see kids eating with their parents late at night at weekends or holidays. When I say late I mean like 11pm. Kids are fussed over by the waiting staff. As for fireworks yes it's quite normal for kids to watch these.
