We are looking at villas in the Playa Blanca area. There appears to be alot of 'quiet, luxury' complex's on which most of the villas are. ie, Los Colorados and Faro. Does anyone have any info on any of these. The villas look very nice but we are worried they are all on top of each other

Thought that Solanza, Carlos Park and La Perla were residential and no licence for holiday renting?

Don't you just luv it.
Agents are always first to say me, me, me, I'll rent to you.
But when you ask a question, they are struch dumb.

Terence we stayed in a villa/bungalow in Casas del Sol in PB this year. They rent out 1 and 2 bedroom properties. The site is very well kept and they are not on top of one another. It is situated just up from the harbour and very convenient for the centre. If you want to have a look round the site try this URL and click on a Selection of Photographs.

The one we stayed in could not be classed as luxury, but it had everything you needed and more. The difference is in privately owned properties they are furnished according to the owner's taste and hence they are all different, as opposed to a holiday complex where they are all much the same. The site is very quiet, does have a reception and a lovely swimming pool, but no bar.

Thx Topsy. I am not looking for somewhere to stay. It's just agents advertise Solanza, Carlos Park and La Perla and when I was there, I was told they were residential and no licence for holiday renting

Why the silence from the agent?

Because a lot of people rent their villas out when they're not supposed to. It's one of those well kept secrets.

Why are you so interested??

Because I was told that properties on Solanza, Carlos Park and La Perla should not be let out to other than families and friends. Suppose the so called agents will say that anyone who makes contact with them immediately becomes a friend. Also, I once stayed on such a complx and the neighbours who lived there, certainly showed that they did not like it. Could ruin someones holiday.
What people do privately is their own business, but agents advertising properties which should not be let out, just to make a few bucks and to hell with the holidaymaker, that is a different matter.

Terence, most people who do this make the renter well aware of the situation, thay have to. Anyone renting in this way is doing it with their eyes open.

Many people have had great holidays under such an arrangement, I'm sorry but I really fail to see what business it is of yours, if you're not directly involved.

RobertK, I have stayed 3 times on 2 of the complexes mentioned and had never been told that they were residential and not for renting by the owners or their agent.
Certainly my eyes were not opened to it and I feel that it should be a warning to others.
When wou fail to see what business it is of mine, don't you think that as I had payed good money 3 times to stay in properties which I should not have been in, it is my business?
What is your interest or is it you are just being nosey, or perhaps it was your property which I was rented and not had my eyes opened?Would you rather that us holidaymakers were not sharing information as a warning to others that your holiday could be ruined.
