Hi,
My boyfriend and I are currently planning a holiday to CT for the first week of September and have been hearing mixed reviews for the resort for this time of year. I thought it best to find out for ourselves, from people who know the area, what we should expect.
Firstly we have been hearing constantly about the wind in CT. We don't mind a breeze but is it as bad as it sounds? And for the time of year we are visiting CT what should we expect weather wise? This will be out last week of holidays this year and so we are hoping for great weather!! We were in Feurtaventura around the same time last year and the weather was wonderful!
Also, and this is less important, we are aware that CT is not as lively as PDC however we would just like to make sure that there is a wide selection of restaurants and bars as we do like to have a choice each night!! We are hoping that the place won't be too quiet the week we are there!
We are stayin in Playa Bastian, Any other info. would be great!!
Thanks!!

I love Lanzarote, I really do but everyone Ive ever spoken to that has holidayed in Teguise has come back dissapointed and I dont rate it either, my advice is dont stay there and choose PDC old town or Matagorda or Playa Blanca

I am returning to Costa Teguise on sunday for the third time! My partner and i love it and dont really like pdc. Every one has their own opinion so i think you should be the judge of that. There are plenty of bars and restuarants. El patio in the square and the mexican just up from there are my personal faves there are also lots of bars which offer large beers for 1.50€. It can get windy but i like it, its refreshing when its really hot, just remember to keep topping up on the sun cream!! I'm sure others will offer you some help on here too

thanks for replies! If you don't mind me asking, danair, what was it about CT that you didn't like? We are already commited to a certain extent to the apartment rental so it may be too late to change our minds!!

Hi Lia,
I went t o CT at the end of Sept/beginning of Oct last year and the weather was great barring a couple of overcast mornings and one evening of rain, but to take a light jacket for the evenings when the wind can make it a bit chilly, but as Fran says it is a welcome relief in the day.
There are lots of great bars and restaurants, my three favourites were El Patio, Casa Blanca and Galeon (the paella was the best I have ever had), and I really like Ryans Bar - I took a 2nd trip to CT in April this year and it is under new management and is much improved.
I have been to Tenerife and Gran Canaria several times but only 'discovered' Lanzarote and CT last year and I love it. I am also trying to go 1st week in Sept depending on work, so may see you there :D

My boyfriend and I are returning to Costa Teguise in September for our 4th time and also 4th stay at the Galeon Playa. We have previously been in September and November and each time had excellent weather. Our last visit in November past recorded temperatures upwards of 35c! Yes it can be a little windy but it can be quite welcoming at times.
I highly recommend the Galeon Resteraunt and also San Remo. San Remo does the best chicken with mushroom sauce. The locals are very welcoming no matter if its a shop, bar or restaraunt you are in. For a good night out I would do the Rancho Texas trip. Food, drink and entertainment are brilliant. Can't remember much of the bus trip back to resort when we went a couple of years ago but I do remember the sore head next morning!
People say it is quieter than PDC but as having not been there I can't compare but as I say you make it how you make it!
The only complaint that I have is that my two weeks holiday passes far too quickly!! I'm counting down the 18 weeks till I go, can't wait....
