just got back today, 2 weeks at punta jabillo, my advice DONT GO!
I read all the reviews before i went and was really worried. Then i read a few good ones and thought it cant be that bad. WRONG, the place is a dump very out dated and shabby. It is clean, but the rooms are shabby only had 3 hot showres in 2 weeks, sheets only changed after 8 days. The food is appalling, really bad, whatever meat you have for dinner, you get it made into stew the next day, we had veal 3 days running. The kids club is a bit of a con as we had to part with 40 euros as soon as we got there for 2 kids to go to 2 activities. they have got a wooden shed as the kids club room, so they take them out. lots of the kids world activites you pay extra for. there is nowhere for the kids to go at midday to play and get out of the sun. Unless they play pool in reception with all the teeenagers. Only see the reps when they want money for trips, around the round pool the drinks machine stinks and ther is no water, only fizzy. In the morning you have to go to the other side of hotel to get water. If your scared of cockroaches dont go the ground floor rooms are rife. The entertainment is dismal to say the least, in 2 weeks we had 2 parrot shows! Which is 10 min parrots 45 min taking photos at 10 euros. I recommend the Glass house for dinner, we ate there on several occaisions. there is definatly night life, the bar behind our rooms plays music till 4.30am them clears away the bottles! i could go on, most of the people i spoke to were filling out complaint forms.

Hi Jemma
It is really frightening when you read reports like Coopaman's - and I'm sorry that you might be made even more nervous now!!!! Sometimes reviews like this are not always helpful when its almost too late to do anything about the holiday booking!!!!! Coopaman - sorry that your hol accom was so rubbish, but surely you could offer Jemma some positives about how lovely Costa Tegiuse is!!!
Anyway Jemma - it does depend which tour company that you are travelling with, as to whether they are helpful or not. If you are worried about cockroaches - the whole island has them and not just some apt blocks - even some of the nicer more expensive hotels do - my adive - KEEP A SENSE OF HUMOUR - DON'T LET THIS RUIN WHAT COULD BE A FAB HOLIDAY.
If you are self catering you will find fantastic restaurants within walking distance - try the spanish ones Portofino/La Pardela etc - gorgeous food! Very clean!
As for night life there are plenty of lively bars with live music/kareoke. The lighthouse has a live act on everynight - and you will find live entertainment in most of the big hotels where you are very welcome even as a non-resident - so don't worry about that. You need to try a few places out - don't just stay in your apt block for entertainment - you get what you pay for here unfortunately!
CT is a lovely resort with plenty to do at night - there are no real "Night clubs" you'd need to go to PCD to experience this.
Keep smiling and enjoy your hols.

i wish i read a few more honest reviews before i went. I wasn't that botherd about the cockroaches, i think that if you book an allinclusive holiday, you want to stay in your hotel for entertainment as you have already paid a premium for your food and drink. We ate at the 'glass house' several times and it was excellant. there are plenty of cheap places to eat in ct, and it is very nice, just not at the punta jabillo!

I am just back from a week in PUNTA JABLILLO. My advice stay away unless you get it very very very cheap. Poor food, Poorer rooms, dirty, poor entertainment, NOT ALL INCLUSIVE. Full Board and free local booze perhaps, nothing is included. Pay for TV, slot, but also hire a remote control????. No hair dryers, no pool towels, nuthin!!!
Terrble place.

hi Jemma,i recently returned from the Punta jabillo apartments on the 6th february.Prior to going i read quite negative things about the apartments.I was a bit apprehensive about going however it turned out fine. The apartments themselves are quite basic however very clean!!!!
the maid comes in every other day and changes your towels so i would suggest you take spares of your own(if you can fit them in the case that is).The food on the all inclusive is not bad breakfast you cant go wrong ie cereals, fry ups etc, lunch there are salads etc so also not bad my only criticm really was dinner it was'nt very varied and at times did'nt taste very hot so myself and my friend's opted to eat out a couple of evening's and that was quite reasonably priced the Lani restaurant's are nice and scattered all over!!!
The area is quite quiet so if your looking for some night life you will have to venture to Puerto Del Carmen which costs an average of around 20 euro's.
Hope this help's hope you have a nice time
