I'm biased because I live there, but Playa Blanca is the prettiest, has the best views - Fuerteventura is straight in front of you, 6 miles away - is flat, and is tailored around families and couples - no loud bars, but plenty of restaurants along the front. You can do it without a car, there is abus service around the town, and to Arrecife, but to get to see the rest of theisland, away from where the commercial tours take you, get a car at the airport from www.Autoreisen.es who are usually thecheapest, and rarely give problems

Everyone has their own views on the Island and mine is that Costa is the best place to be followed by Pdc and for me Playa is last on the list.......Very Baron area with lovely beaches but playa blanca is to spread out and doesnt seem to be connected together...plus always find it more expensive to eat there for some reason.

Yes the approach to Playa Blanca, and the land behind the Papagayo beaches are barren, but PB is not. Although from one end to the other it's quite long, the restaurant areas of Costa Teguise and certainly Puerto Del Carmen, are more spread out - look on Google Maps. Most of the restauarnts are in a 300 yard stretch from the harbour to the end of the town beach, with other groups at the Dorada Beach, and the Marina, but they are only 10 minutes walk apart.
