Somewhere near La Cucharas we can get maybe a nice Steak, Paella or some Tapas? Been to CT lot's of times but always been All inclusive, having read some of the forums we decided to go Self Catering this time but don't want to eat in pub/bar type places every night thought we'd like a bit of A La Carte too!!! Can anyone assist in recommending? Thanks in advance.

El Patio is excellent, not cheap but good quality food and good atmosphere, especially when the market is on. Avoid the big mexican type places on the hill down to the beach from there like the plague.
Although there is an excellent Italian place about 3/4 of the way down that hill on the right hand side, the name escapes me though.

Hi, I really can't agree on el patio,we've been going to Costa for a number of years and have eaten here 3 times and our steaks have always been really poor, the only reason we have been more than once is because I read comments like this and think we need to give it another chance but after 3 chances I think that's enough. We can really recommend La Voca Loca whwich is an Argentinian restaurant which is by the square on the opposite side of the road to the Red Lion opposite the Nazaret apartments, you need to book because it's really small and popular,(I will be having my first steak here when we land on Friday),another place we find good for steak and large portions is Hollywood Nights by the Coronas Playa Hotel, this is more of a TGI Fridays type of restaurant but the food is always fresh and plentiful. I agree to avoid the Mexican type places going down to the beach and also the one off the square. Hope you have a great time. Nick

Nick Thanks all for your opinions would welcome anyone else putting there two penneth (or cent lol!!) in, Hollywood nights sounds good (for nice large portions, my John has a voracious appetite) however The Coronas Playa is quite a walk from where we stayin my heels...(I won't take cab ride to go for dinner )

The casa blanca wasn't too bad. Steaks were fine and not a bad selection of vinos.

Hi, Las Maretas is very good but you will have to book at this time of year and there is always a reasonable wait for your food - but well worth it. La Bohemia (the old Don Tango) has received some very good reports from our customers. We always eat out in Divina Italia - it blows El Patio out of the water every time! There is also a new restaurant open at the back of the square - do not know the name but it used to be an old abandoned house. Only had two revues from there but both very good!

I have personally found that you wont beat Portabello in the CC Las Cucharas at the bottom of your road. Great Fillet steak, lamb and the garlic prawns are the best. The homemade chocolate Mousse is to kill for. The lady is there 20 years there and is always packed with tourists and Spanish. Her name is Nati. You wont find a better welcome or good grub.
