We'll be arriving late on Saturday night and staying in Matagorda. We'd like to go to Mass on Sunday and are wondering where the best ceremonies/ processions are or if we will have missed them by missing semana santa?

Also any advice on the cost of hiring a car versus taking a tour to Timanfaya for 2 adults and 3 children (10-15)?

And is there a good hypermarket (not a Spar!)[b][/b] and how can we get there by public transport/ how much is a taxi?!

And where is the bets market and what day?

Think there is somewere in arrecife for church, there is also hyper market on the way to arrecife, the bus goes past it, it is a big shopping mall, and i cant for the life of me remember what it is called!! there is also like another hyperdino in the old town of pdc. near the aquarius hotel x

Not sure about church, although there is a beautiful Church in La Candelaria, Tias who used to do mass, unsure of times etc though, sorry.
A lot cheaper to hire a car for trips, although, if funds allow, much better to do organised trips, especially if its your first visit here as the coaches take you to all the right places and you can sit back, relax and enjoy everything, as well as sampling the local wines along the way.
If you do go to Arrecife to the Church, you can stop off at Deiland shopping centre, (not far from airport) where they have a Hiperdino supermarket, a lot cheaper than buying in Puerto Del Carmen, and easy to get to as the bus stops almost outside. A lot of other nice shops there too.
