We were there in 93 and found the breakfasts to be awful, but we have been told that they have improved a bit.The evening meals were varied and tasty most of the time, only let down once or twice over the two weeks that we were there. The bar snacks were always freshly prepared and inexpensive.Breakfasts are available outside of the hotel,Ferraris do a particularly good one and will not cost you too much.
Be very careful when buying electrical goods,we were told to try the guy at the bazaar buy and fly just outside of the hotel near the amusement arcade he doesn't sell much but will put you in touch with a shop that is very reliable and as never ripped me off unlike some of the other guests who were sucked in by the hard-sell at some of the other shops in the shopping centre nearby.
Have a good time and just to say that the El is not just about the food its far more than that its the feel of the place, its the pools, its the entertainment and its Alexis the nutter that runs the kids disco and compares the evening entertainments programme.

hi,
I have been with my family and food was more or less, but I went out to Meson Don Pepe and the food, atmosphere and service was wonderful. Then Cactus Jack for a drink with live entertaiment every nights.
I enjoy and I´ll back soon

i have been to eltrebol twice first in 2002 with my husband and second time with are two boys age 2 and 5 in 2005. we really like this place food all although not the best you could get in the resort is still good plenty of choice and you can have as much as you want.breakfast i really enjoyed there was eggs and bacon etc although not as you would have at home still tasty. even the kids liked it. even better for me was the selection or pastries etc lots of them available, so my breakfast most days was a plate of croissants . selection of fruit juices, tea, coffee. all the usual stuff.the only thing wrong with the breakfast was the cereal what looked like coco pops actually tasted like sugar puffs. the staff in the restaurant and at the reception although accomodating where very often miserable looking probably due to the fact that they are always busy . rooms are basic and could do with a bit of a makeover but are still comfortable ,anyway who spends there holiday in there room .. not me. the evening entertainment is fantastic watch out for ruben he is not be missed starts off a bit silly with singing from musicals but gets better with wonderful mime work and audiance participation that doesnt invole you standing up in front of everyone making and idiot of yourself. the childrens entertainer is great to although him english isnt perfect the kids and parents all love him. my boys are still talking about the fun they had each night at the minidisco. which is just long enough to tire them out a bit in time for the main show. the pool although very cold in all seasons is clean and spacious. if you just want to lie on a lilo then i recommend the shallow kids pool which is often half empty becuase of the bigger childrens pool that has all the slides in. the outside of this hotel really puts you off when you arrive in your coach but it is nt representative of the hotel inside. the shops outside are handy for snacks etc and the ferrari bar is good for quality english food at cheap prices. the main beach is only down the bottom of the road and is really beautifull although the water is quite rough. a short walk about 10-15 minutes around the coast past all the shops etc is a smaller beach which is perfect for the kids it is protected by breakwaters and you can walk around with your feet surrounded by beautifull fish that will take bread from your hand it was fantastic we all loved it . this beach is small so i recommend going early to get a good spot.cactus jacks is a fun place to drink in the evening with karaoke cabaret etc but is quite load so not for everyone.
i would recommend the sunday market as it is full of funny little things to take home as well as quality local produce and conterfit bargains ie handbags sunglasses etc . but be warned check around the resort first as some people take advantage of the fact that you are going to buy on impulse and you may end up paying more than in the resort . it is very busy and i would say that even if your young children are walking well aged 2-3-4 i would recommend putting them in a puschair to stop them getting squashed or worse still lost. well there you go i have said my bit hope it helps all you future visitors. last thing i should say is that i have just booked another holiday for september 2006 and guess where we are staying yes of course el trebol.:D
