Buy now in UK, the pound is going down down down, droped 3cents in as many days, Althams travel was offering 1.16 last week, i was tempted to wait but the wife said buy-buy-buy so i bought, glad i did, by next week you'll be lucky to get 1.13, euro is strenghthening again agains the £ and the $. Investors panic'd when Ireland had problems a couple of week ago and investors sold the euro and opted for the GBP, but there was a panic in the bank of England at there monthly meeting, some wanted to QE (quantitive easing) but was brushed aside with a vote but this didnt help the £ and it droped a cent within minutes of the Bank of Englland minutes for the meeting being released. This sharp downward trend will probably continue but my prodiction is it will steady at 1.13 or 1.12 but it could drop more but i think it will not go up again until January (end). BUT..............BUT if portugal and Spain screem HELP !!! just watch the £ go banana's, we will be getting 1.25 - 1.30.

Talk about hedging your bets Derby pub!

1.16 widely available in London today.

Remember the difference between 1.16 and 1.14 for £500 is only 10E we aren't exactly talking material differences.

For the 4th day in a row, Sterling fell further against most major currencies. The culprit this time was high unemployment figures for the UK. This is despite figures showing retail sales rose at their fastest pace in 8 years but mark my words  the £ has lost momentam and is loosing against the euro

as foodie says, the difference on holiday spending is trivial. Enjoy the break and don't be worrying if the exchange rate will change.
