Hotel safe facilty?! Majority of apartments have a "safe" in the wall which in my experience just makes in easier for burglars to know where to look.....

I have a credit card which is solely for overseas travel, and another one for the UK which I use for everything to get cashback - but I guess thats just how I organise my finances.

Have you looked at getting a prepay cc which means you can only spend what you have?

Others seem to have answered for me. Obviously it's your choice, but I never have and never would carry any more cash than I could afford to lose in one go. And as they say, in general Lanzarote is a lot safer than most parts of the UK, but you only need to get caught up in the excitement one evening for someone to wait for their chance whist you are distracted - and those people know where to go to find distracted holidaymakers!

I don't want a pre pay CC most involve a fee why should I pay to spend my own money. (please don't say to be safe or for peace of mind) I would never use a bedroom safe nor hide it in the bedroom, I check before booking what facilities are available.

I don't carry all the cash with me, usually about €50 the rest in the safe.

Anyway I can't seem to find out about Hairdryers the hotel didn't reply to my second email...I wonder if they got the email, I must away to send again.

Agreed many do charge a fee - though that is less than you would pay in commission to change the cash in the first place...

Anyway - will stop lecturing and let you find that hairdryer!

Hence my question about the exchange rate, as I don't pay commision where I exchange in the UK...

Can someone please consult their mystic utensil and tell me the exact exchange rate on the exact day and time when I'm next in PDC? Obviously you will determine dates and times from aforementioned mystic utensil.

Hi All

Just a note of caution on the use of ATMs, i know someone recently returned from Puerto Del Carmen
who had her account emptied after withdrawing some money from one.
