We're booked to fly to Lanzarote on 27th June with RyanAir from Glasgow.
Following on from a previous post about flying with EasyJet, who has some helpful tips for me??? I am flying with my 1yr old son, as well as another (separately booked) party of 4 adults, an 8yr old & an 18mth old.
I know I have to print off my Boarding Pass from home, but what other little gems of knowledge should I know? I have always flown with charter flights in the past...
TIA, MrsC xx

Just make sure you do'nt exceed the weight and size for your luggage - especially the size of cabin bags. Aim under their maximum (which differ from others, so make sure you check the Ryanair web site and don't rely on what others say). Their staff are expert at knowing which commonly bought cabin bags just fail to fit their test cage, and they'll pull you out of the queue and make you pay to put an oversize one in the hold.
If you stcik to their particluar rules they are fine, and you should have a good trip.

Strictly one item of cabin baggage per passenger (excluding infants) weighing up to 10kg with maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm is permitted. (handbag, briefcase, laptop, shop purchases, camera etc.) must be carried in your 1 permitted piece of cabin baggage. Extra/oversized cabin baggage will be refused at the boarding gate, or where available, placed in the hold of the aircraft for a fee of £35/€35. If you are unsure, check at the Bag Drop desk before going through security.
As your travelling with an infant the whole "cattle" scrum for boarding should be a little better for you as they allow you on only 2nd to wheelchair users. Make sure you also stick to the 100ml liquids in any hand luggage and Ryanair insist on a 20cm x 20cm plastic bag to carry them in.

One little gem you should know is that Ryanair don't fly from Glasgow, they fly from Glasgow Prestwick.

Take a photo (with time and date) before you go through security of your baggage fitting into the "check" point.
It may or may not fit at the gate..........................

Ive flown four times now with Ryan Air and have no complaints. Food and drink is a little more expensive on the plane, 3€ for a coffee or water, 6€ for a very small baileys but you can purchase beforehand in the airport if you want food and drink. Also, there is no entertainment on board, but it is a 'no frills' airline, so to be expected. But apart from that, everything fine. Just make sure you are not over on your allowances as someone has previously stated and if you want the best seats, watch the boarding notices and be first in the queue to board as it is "first come, first served" or other than that, pay extra for priority boarding.

We've gone for priority boarding but have heard stories that the staff dont insist on separate queues in order for PB's getting on the plane (or the bus depending where the plane is on the runway!) and its a waste of money... anyone else heard that? Or know of any good/bad stories about PB's on Ryanair? One thing i'll say about Easyjet is that the staff make it their 'lifes ambition' to ensure Speedy Boarders get on 1st!

We fly from Luton and they do have two queue's so priority board first. It is sometimes hit and miss at Lanzarote but the last few times they definately have two queue's. It's well worth the extra. I have heard they are testing charging £8.00 for the wide exit seats so watch this space.

Waste of time - especially off peak. What's the point of flying lo cost airline to then bump the cost up? Having said that Ryanair planes are far newer and comfier than monarch, thomas cook and majority of the charter flights.

Monarch charge £25.00 for their wider seats but Ryanair charge £4.00 for priority boarding which almost guarantees you more legroom,so well worth the money.
