Hi All,

I'm similar to Claire but only one not Irish so far! Also not really religious and my other half was married before so we just want a civil wedding ceremony in a nice setting on Lanzarote.

We also want it to be near nice accommodation and not have to do too much messing about with transport as there's only a few of us going (we'll have party for everyone else when we get back).

Also wondering about places fairly near main port as my parents will link up for wedding from a cruise liner for the day.

Does anyone have any experience or tips for simple small civil wedding and howlong you have to be resident in the country before getting married?

Thanks & good luck to all those getting married this month!
Ally

Hi all you folks gettimg married this year.
Just found this site snd got interested in your conversation. I got married on lanzarote 20th Sep 2005. We stayed at Los Zocas in Costa Teguise, and had a cival ceremanery at 'LAGAMAR' just outside Costa Teguise. I am willing to give anyone information on this topic. I must add we had to have a quick 'I DO' at home before we went as we had to apply and it was too much messing and we could of been turned down, can't remember the full story, but can ask my Dad who arranged everything. but I cant even remember the date we had to go register office as we just had witnesses and wore everyday clothes, then did the proper thing on Lanzarote. My photographer was really cheap and if you would like to look at our photos they are on his website, under 'OUR WEDDING' Lee & Inez. http://www.lanzarotepix.com.
I even had my dress cleaned over there and was back in three days and only cost 20 euro.

Dont' hesitate toe-mail me. Inez

I would say the best place to stay in costa teguise would be the occidental allegro oasis...
