Hi there, Tried lot's of restaurants in Puerto del Carmen and there is a good choice, but for good food, value for money and good service try the restaurant la brassa in the strip. It is close to the Casino on the opposite side of the road. You won't be dissapointed.

I unfortunately was!
What can go wrong with Lasagna? Frozen in the middle, then pushed together and microwaved. Not really impressed.

Lasagna and Spag Bol is Latino food, you can only have so much fish and steaks then you need a change. I am very much a fish person, but everyone needs a change from time to time. I always thought that Lasagna was impossible to spoil, but.....?
Bring on the Tapas!

Just returned from two weeks in Tias, but mainly travelled out to eat.
Restaurant in Mattagordy (probably incorrect spelling) called Trattoria Timbayba was excellent for quality of food, service and atmosphere. We went there twice which meant we must have liked it. The menu of the day at 10 euro was great value, but the main menu was also good. The meat mixed grill was enourmous. The garlic prawns exquisite, and the kids enjoyed huge steaks. Serving 15 people at once was not a problem, even though the restaurant was full, although the owner thought he served us slowly and knocked off 20 euros from the bill! Still paid him the full bill though.
Restaurants in old town PDC were much of a muchness, all staff seemed very friendly and not at all pushy if you walked past. Food was good in all the ones we used.
A very good lunch was had at a French restaurant (did not know it was French when we sat down, but liked the look of it) on the road down to the 'diving' beach where the fiesta was based (cannot recall its name), but food good and service great.
One restaurant in the lower end of the port area was let down by the kitchen staff, not the front of house who were great. Again cannot recall the name, but if you go there you will recognise the menu as most of it was basically a variety of mussels with sauces and chips. However if you went for the menu of the day which provided you with a starter, main and pudding you were in trouble! There were 13 of us, which probale did not help, and not everyone had starters, but as the starters did arrive, so did the main courses! The look on my sons face as his main was presented to him as he took the first bite of his starter! They also managed to completely forget two main courses which meant by the time these arrived everyone else had finnished. This being said, the food was excellent and would recommend it, but not in such a big party of people.
Tias restaurnts seemed to be very quiet, except the English owned one above Ganges, which was full of English enjoying a carvery for 5 euros. We went there as it is owned by someone who our friends knew. Again the service was excellent, and the food was OK, but probable would not go back due to it being a little too English.
Overall when we eat out we found the restaurants were all very good, and we did not have what could be called a bad meal, although generrally we did notice how quiet most of them were. Another great visit to Lanzorote was had by us all.

Hi frankandpearl,
The carvery is in Tias which is the town above PDC past the golf course, so it would mean a taxi or bus ride which makes it not so cheap. Sorry.
regards LindaK
