Hi everyone. I have just discovered this forum - it's great. We are visiting Lanzarote for the first time on 26th - 2 days to go and counting

- it sounds fabulous - we will be staying in Puerto Calero - which looks lovely - looking forward to some proper good weather x

Gail, will certainly feed back but from what I have read don't think we have too much to worry about! Where are you going Meat? Anywhere near us? We flying from Stansted, what about you?

You obviously familiar with Lanzo - you only got half day at work!!!! Got about 3/4 this end then hey ho finish packing and off to Stansted for the joy of security Thurs lunchtime. Is where you staying far from Puerto Calero?

i have never actually visited were youre staying just tried looking on the map and forgot were i was looking for :lol:

if its the place i looked at b4 the map it looks to hane a beautiful harbour,just put the resort name into youre google search and you will find endless info,trust meat you will enjoy :wink:

puerto calero is nowhere near costa tequise. calero is a lovely harbour area about 10 mins drive from carmen, it has bars and restaurants on the harbour but not much more i am afraid so you will prob find yourself heading into carmen some nights it just depends what you are looking for in way of entertainment. what day does the cold beer need to be on the counter meat?

There used to be a water taxi that went from Puerto Calero to Puerto Del Carmen harbour. It was always nice getting out on the water for a bit.

The water taxi still runs, €7.50 single, double for a return.
It took me 1hr last time (normally 15 mins) but the captain saw whales and dolphins.

Been to Calero a few times, really nice area. If you want more info, Trip Advisor is quite a helpful website. They have reviews and forums there too.

If you're going to Iberostar, there is a previous posting called Costa Calero where I gave a fair bit of info.
