Hello,

I'm hoping someone can advise me and I apologise now for my lack of knowledge here and what may seem a silly question:

My friend and I are returning to PDC for a couple of weeks at christmas and is wondering if it is possible to buy a freeview box and install in yourself as you would do in the uk?

It would be used in one apartment over christmas and then given to his mum (I am guessing) to keep and use if required in her apartment. As we stay in different apartments each time we visit, a permanent installation wouldn't be possible so we're looking for something we can move around with us.

If anyone knows if this is possible to do and possible to buy in PDC, I'd be grateful for the advice.

Kind regards

Jayne.

Yes you can by freeview boxes here, however please tell me you aren't expecting to get BRITISH free channels with it. The freeview boxes will only get you the Spanish channels as it gets a signal from Spanish aeriel and of course every apartment you used when moving around would need an aeriel so you would need to buy a digital aeriel as well.

Hi Overhere,

thanks for your reply, No I'm under the impression for UK channels, you'd need satallite tv? (I might be wrong) spanish is fine, I just wasn't sure if the same sort of portable freeview set up was available.

That's great, I'll have a nosey around when we arrive back.

Many thanks

Jayne

you'll find a freeview box from the UK should do the job you want just select Spain when installing it.

you paying for freeview channels Trev?????

just re-read it Trev and you are talking about the price of a box I take it. There is also the option of a scart transmitter which has a built in freeview but not tried one.

Some of the Spanish channels broadcast American films and series, and sometimes, it is possible to swap audio channels on the remote, and get the original US sound track. El cheapo small digibox from Tesco would work, as would any freeview TV
