Success! after much internet searching I found the details for changing all the telefonica instructions into english (or german, french, swedish etc) go to

http://www.idealspain.com/Pages/Informa ... eCodes.htm

the section is at the bottom of the page. Hope this will help someone else too.

Simon,

you might find they are knocking on your door on Monday mate.

I know when I enquired for the bar they said 2 weeks but was actually 3 days.

Thanks guys for all the replies. It's interesting to see how the story can progress. I too was amazed by Telefonicas response. I phoned on Tuesday and they fitted the phone at work on Weds and the house on Thursday.

I recently needed help setting up the internet for my parents and again telefonice were superb and passed me through to an english speaking technician. If you ring 1004 and ask for an english speaking operator, please don't be put off if they say there isn't one. Be a little persistent and someone can help.
