Hi everyone, just wanted to say Hi, been going to Lanzarote for 7 years and love it. We normally stay in Casas Del Sol in Playa Blanca which is very handy for the promenade and beaches

Have been reading all the threads and over the years we have experienced a few of the things mentioned. On our first year there we were stopped in the street on our walk back to villa by 2 pretty girls who wanted us to do a 'scratch card' to see if we would win a prize. Being very very nieve we did this and guess what, yep, we won the first prize and 2 pretty girls took us to their shop to collect our prize. We were then stuck there for 3 hours listening to this guy go on about how we could save a fortune on holidays if we just spent £8k on a special voucher thing. Anyway, this all happened on Sept 11th 2001 and after 3hrs everything came to a stop when we heard about the twin towers.
We have also had similiar problems with the camera shops, been told on several occasion that they dont have the camera we wanted and have a 'better' version for the same money. My partner is very into his gadgets so knew exactly the one he wanted and wouldnt take anything else. This upset them but they promised they would get it in for him. We went every day for the week we were there and every day they didnt have it in but offered something else. I am doubtful they actually stock any well known names and just have these immitation ones!
Anyway, thats the bad things that have happened, the good things far outway the bad. We have had some brilliant holidays there, its always sunny and warm and the other little shops are fab. Casas Del Sol has always been a really lovely place to stay with a pool that is hardly ever used so its nice to sit by there reading a good book without being interupted by kids screaming etc. I can see why people retire there!
Enough of my waffling, hope to contribute to some other threads soon.
