Newbie here and searching for some good recommendations all in the name of love....

I am hoping someone has some good advice/recommendations/suggestions and/or ideas. My will then be hubby (wedding 5 weeks away) are spending our Honeymoon in Lanzarote. I have been to most of the Canaries Islands but have never been to Lanzarote and neither has my will be husband, so although i can research to my hearts content, its better to hear it from the horses mouth, so to speak.

we arrive early Jan for 2 weeks and are lucky to have AI status, however staying in the complex is not something we want to do for 14 days/nights. we are staying in the quieter resort of Costa Teguise.

i wondered if anyone could pass on any recommendations from excursions/theme parks/ aquarium/historic/restaurants/taxi numbers (reliable and safe, of course), nightlife etc etc. we dont mind travelling but again unsure of the distances between the airport and the 3 main resorts anas we may not hire a car taxi's again are important. ALSO... possibly interested in Island hoping (day trip, maybe overnight) and wondered if anyone else had done this and wondered if there was a recommenation on who best to go with times etc.

If you look to the left of this post, click on attractions, there is a decent list of places to see. I would highly recommend the "Fire Mountains". Sit on the side opposite the driver for the best views.
A number of companies are doing full Island tours, but you may be better to split them into a north and a south tour. A more relaxed event.
Driving is easy on the Island and the distances involved are not too far.

Taxi's are excellent, most (if not all) speak a decent level of English and will take you directly to where you want to go.

Another option is the local, very cheap bus service. The website lists all services and fares.

For Island hopping try http://www.bintercanarias.com , the local Canarian airline. Again all frequencies and prices are on the site. Main routes are to Gran Canaria for a day in Las Palmas, or Tenerife norte for Santa Cruz, La Laguna or Puerto de la Cruz. Regular buses from outside both airport terminals.

There are so many resorts and so many wonderful restaurants that it is a shame really to go AI on honeymoon.
