Does anyone know of a decent budget hotel preferably with shuttle bus service near Madrid Airport? Don't want to break the bank its only on route. I can see leads on the internet but would prefer to hear of one that someone uses or has used. Thanks

Thank you very much. Just booked that hotel. It looks fab on websites and for what it looks like on the website is reasonable. It is near the underground as well as we have a day to kill.
The shuttle bus is a saving in itself.

just to say we used the Hi-Tech airport hotel as advised on this site. It was brilliant. Every room had a lap top and was connected to internet. I found the hotel warm and comfortable and the staff polite and helpful. The shuttle was a gift from outside the hotel and airport respectively. There were loads of beds in the rooms and I would use it again and offered tremendous value for money for what it was.

We used the Metro - now that's value for money. We went to see the Real Madrid stadium and it was a wonderful day whether you support them or not or like football. There was a great sense of history and achievement there.

We intend to go back to Madrid for a few days as we only whet our appetites.

A lady approached us as we read the maps at the Metro station and advised us on buying the ten ticket ticket as it will only cost us seven euro for the three of us to get to and from the stadium. It was all in all a great experience and we intend to travel to Ireland via Easyjet and Ryanair for half the Aer Lingus prices from now on. It was a great success and managed to save 350 euro.
