Hello

A friend was in PDC in March and said it was really quiet - though I wouldn't expect it to be very busy at that time of year. However, talking to the locals they were saying how dead it had been in Summer 09 and were hoping that this season would be better.

Does it seem livelier so far this year compared to last year?

Thanks.

Hi Troilus,

We returned from PDC early hours of this morning. We had been for only a week but found it very quiet, we were there in May last year and although it was not hectic in 2009 it was busier than last week. Chatting to the barmen in Spenders on Tues night and in The Whale and Ale on Wed confirmed that it is quiet for the businesses too!
Our accommodation was so quiet and we were the only people in some of the restaurants / bars at times but it was still a restful and chilled holiday. I don't like hustle and bustle anyway so this is in no way a complaint!
My only complaint stood with the cloudy weather for the latter part of the week :?

Thanks Nics

Glad you had a nice holiday.

However, I find your message somewhat disheartening. My last holiday to PDC was June 2007 and the resort was very lively and busy. I am returning on 10 June and am worried that I will now be holidaying in a ghost town. For me, people make for a good atmosphere.

If the economic climate is to blame for people's reluctance to holiday abroad, then this must be true of all holiday destinations -I can't see any particular reason why Lanzarote should suffer more than other places.

I only hope that June is more lively.

Hi

It def wasn't a ghost town...The general consensus from the proprietors out there was that people are around but on tight budgets and not as willing to spend.
World cup fever may have gripped people by the time you go anyway!
We opted for eating out at around 9pm as there were more folk about, mostly locals, but preferable to eating alone at 7!!

There were a few bars that were busy late on, Ruta 66 and Tequila Bar particularly.

I am sure you will have a fab time anyway, fingers crossed the weather is better for you than it was for us!
