A great location! You're just 40 or 50 yrds from Flamingo beach, which is sandy... and not as busy as the biggest one Playa Dorada.
It's a fair old hike into town from there, but if you're up for it, it'll probably take about half an hour along the seafront promenade, or 3 to 4 euros in a taxi. But anyway, there's some really nice food and drink places up your end too. Give Pinxtos a try - absolutely superb! Great tapas! You also have the White Bar there for sipping your coctails in the sunshine.
The apartments themselves are clean, and well maintained... and seem to be populated by the more "civilised" guest.
If you have a good hunt through the Playa Blanca section of this forum, you'll find oodles of posts about restanrants and bars here, as well as other good places to visit in the resort.
We hope you enjoy your time in our town!

Flash is correct, there's a great Spar (we often use it ourselves)around there. You won't have any problems getting provisions. Don't worry about your location, there's plenty there if you decided to stay really close - or yes, the taxis are about. Your reception will hapily call one for you... and they are very easily available in town. the taxi rank is on the main high street, just one row back from the town beach. If the rank is empty, then just wait 5 minutes.
You're actually at the opposite end of Paya Blanca to the Marina. A cab there is probably about 5 or 6 euros - but I'm guessing there.
Enjoy that packing! And don't forget the suncream, it's still quite warm. Not a cloud in the sky as I look out the window... albeit a little hazy.

Sorry to hear about your sisters plumbing, can't be comfortable, a holiday will do you both good.
Elle, fyi, never paid as much as five euros to the marina even from the taxi rank near our place, usually 3.5 tops, so that's five with the tip, they really are dead cheap.
