Can anyone tell me which electrical stores in CT are the most reputable.
Hubby wants to buy some gadgets out there  ...but not sure which to go to!
Only 10 days now, very excited but nervous as hell about the flight....I am petrified of flying!

Thanks

Colleen

Really rather depends what "gadgets" you want!!

Unless your husband is a bit of an expert and knows exactly what he wants and knows the comparable prices in the UK then I really wouldn't bother.

You can make savings but you have virtually no consumer protection and the guys who run the shops are pretty expert at selling you something you don't want I would be very careful. If you have cash you can afford to lose then go for it - otherwise you can get substantial savings on the internet - try kelkoo.co.uk and other price comparison sites - and you still get full uk legal protection.

And if you do have to buy something make sure you put on a credit card and make sure you open the box before you leave the store to make sure they've not swapped what you think you bought for something else.

Thanks for the advice....he was wanting a digital camera as ours is a bit outdated now, but think we will stick to buying over here.

Hi,

My recommendation: Stick to that intention !

I also want to draw your attention to the "Sticky" topic on this forum under "Share your experiences" regarding cameras and camcorders...

I have been in and out of Lanzarote since 1984, and I have also some experience in Cameras and alike as I am a part time photographer and ex. President of the biggest Camera club in Oslo, Norway....

Buying anything here is very very risky.......

Thanks...

You have to know what you are talking about with the electrical stores in the Canaries.

You daren't even look in a window, before they are out hounding you.

Having said that, I bought my first digi camera from a store at La Cucharas, and paid £199 in 1999 December ,for an Olympus 1.3 meg pixel .

The model was £299 here in the UK.
