Arriving late at night, we found the reception open, and our two bungalows fresh, clean and inviting with plenty of space and storage. There we no facilities for purchasing anything at that time of night, so be aware of this. We hired a kettle and safe key. Windows have mesh to prevent flying intruders.
With the dawn, we were able to see how clean and tidy the gardens were.
The shop is basic. Some days milk is not available till late and the bread rolls which someone mentioned are not fresh, but lay forlorn in a sack. The shop closes mid-day Sat and all day Sunday and fresh milk and bread arrives late Monday. So again be aware.
Plenty of sunbeds round the pool and bar snacks available throughout the day. The restaurant is now closed and no meals are available, except the bar snacks.
The whole complex is very quiet.
When you walk out of the complex, it is only a few yards to the beach/promenade. If you turn right, there are a few bars/eating places within 15 mins, and the lighthouse is about 30 ins walk away.
Should you turn left, within 10 mins there are a cluster of eating places, supermarkets etc, then a further 20 mins walk another cluster by the ferry area. Once over the car park you hit the town. A great promenade of eating places/gift shops and such like. Behind this, is the main shopping street where the likes of Netto and Spar are in abundance.
Extending this walk is the "posh" area where the marina lies and twice weekly there is a profusion of market stalls.
In all, Playa Blanca is quiet and attractive, the beaches as one would expect are volcanic with small pockets of imported sand here and there.
