Have just returned from yet another great holiday in Puerto Del Carmen.
The weather was fabulous, the food excellent and the hospitality of everyone was second to none (as usual).
Although we found the resort quieter during the day at night it was totally different.
Loads of people were out and about.
FOOD and DRINK.
Many if not all restaurants were serving a “special”, ie 2/3 course for as little as €10. Breakfasts were around €2.50.
Personally I didn’t notice any change to the price of alcohol/soft drinks from previous times on the island. €2/3 a pint of beer.etc still very good value. €6 for most pints in Dublin.
We did notice AI people out and about in restaurants as well.
FLIGHTS and ACCOMMODATION
We always book independently..
Flights. £199 per person x 3 people with Air Lingus + apartment £690 (£1287 in total)
Thomas Cook/Airtours price for the same time and same apartments (£1880.
.
* * For those who normally book a package holiday, chose your accommodation and either email or call them and see what price they offer you independently of the tour operator and then check flight prices. (Doing it this way should save you some money) As stated previously on this forum Ryanair now flies from several UK airports to Lanzarote.
Taxi from the airport to PDC €12.
The euro hovered in and around €1.14 – €1.16.
No pestering from the PR’s, a polite “no thank you” was usually greeted with “thank you maybe another time”
The main avienda looks brilliant with the new road works almost completed, still a bit to be done at the harbour but should look great when it’s finished.
All in all a fabulous holiday was had by all. Really cant find a negative to say. Already booked again.
