Just got back from a brilliant 2 weeks in Puerto del carmen. Found it very quiet but I suppose that is the same with most resorts, out on the strip every night, went to Bar humbug to see some turns but nobody in both nights,Caesars night club closed while we were there, also the Sussex bar, which we went to after being there the night before(technical reasons said the sign on the door?) Had a good night in the old town at Flanagans, free entry and a good drag act, reasonable prices too, went to Redz at the end of the night on most nights great set of lads in there and a good laugh. Spanish bar for bingo,Tequila bar for B.O.G.O.F. drinks,Sunset beach for quiz nights, and plenty more. Every meal out was very good value, notably Pinnochios and not one dissapointing meal in the 2 weeks,Tartan teddy in the old town,Sunset beach, good for Sunday lunch. Hired a car went to the cactus gardens' 5 euro entry but you've seen one cactus you have seen them all (got 1100) and also Mirador del rio was beautiful, the museum could have been a bit more interesting/descriptive though, also went to the water park one day and could'nt believe how quiet it was, going on past visits, could have only been 150 people there,so no queuing for rides, but seems as though it desperately needs some money spent on it,especially the paths as they are so uncomfortable to walk on in bare feet, and the bigger rides are looking very old and tired. Stayed in a fantastic villa booked off Owners direct, excellent value, done this for the last few hols there, and would'nt go back to booking through agents again paying them too much commission. Strip is looking a lot better with the new road layout but seemed to cause a few problems if a vehicle had to stop, holds all the traffic up. Got a taxi back most nights as so inexpensive. All in all a great 2 weeks, and hoping to get back again early next year.
