Hi

Looking for experience of using a kindle in bright sunlight.

Is it as easy as reading a book or do you get glare on the kindle screen.

Thanks

Colin

I have no direct experience of using a Kindle, but according to the ads on television there are no problems with reading from it in direct sunlight.

Quote from a review:

"Unlike LCD screen, you can read Kindle screen in direct sunlight with no problem. Since having Kindle I spend part of my lunchtime reading under the tree in broad sunlight. On the other hand, I can't read it in the dark as I can with an LCD screen, Kindle always requires light, as a real book does. Fortunately, a clip-on reading lamp won't cost you an arm and a leg($5-$10, cheaper if bought bundled with a protective case)."

Can't agree with the blurb I'm afraid. We just got back from Spain a couple of weeks ago and firend was moaning like merry hell about not being able to see the Kindle well enough in the bright sunlight.

I bought her an anti glare screen protector when we got back and it's 100% better.

You can buy them on Amazon or eBay

We have a Kindle here in Playa Blanca and it is no problem at all, the black text on white screen is very easy to read, even on the brightest of days here.

My visitor has one. I found it was very easy to read in direct sunlight on a brilliant afternoon. The contrast was excellent. I have read that some people have received ones that weren't as good, but they got them exchanged.
