Just a warning that the food served was terrible. I should have learnt as last time I went about 3 years ago it was bad.

Seems other people were not enjoying their meals as a lot was being thrown over the side to the fish!!!

My chicken was like rubber, I'm sure it was reheated. The service was appalling and we must have had about 7 different people waiting at the table. One explained what our cutlery was for!

To round it all off the dessert of chocolate mouuse was unavailable. My partner was seething so I quickly asked for the bill before the waitress went into the water - we had coffee's elsewhere!

Bit of a deviation, but my favourite is Casa Brigida on the Marina, superb, both food and staff.

Location: Lancashire, UK - but I wish I was in Playa Blanca
That's surprising!

I've not been to PB for 18 months but usually stop at Lani's for lunch and I can say I've never had a bad meal from there.

Will be back at the end of March (YAY!) so hopefully things will have improved by then

We will not go back to Lani's in PB...first time we went there 5 years ago was all good however the next couple of times after that, was awful....the food was ropey!! The place never enters our heads now except for when we reminisce about mad moments

I just thought I would say that Lanis is one of our favourite restaurants in Playa Blanca!!! We've been there for lunch and evening meal more times than I can remember - sometimes they take a while to bring the bill, but it's in a beautiful location and the fresh fish is lovely!!

I went there for lunch about 4 years ago and it was really bland. It had a very similar menu to the exquisite La Ola in PDC, but the words on the menu were the only similarity. I'm sure it was also more expensive. I never give anywhere a second chance. Even those ugly fish swimming below the decking looked tasty after that lunch. I've heard that Lani's in all resorts have all been sold off. Does anyone have any info on that?

Info on selling off the Lani's in other resorts would be useful.

We go to Lanis in Costa Teguise about 3 times in a week when we are over and the whole family love it!

I'd rather know before ordering if the service and food has lowered in quality.

We visited Lani's grill in PB at the Marina. Got there for about 10pm - the waiter could not even be bothered to look at us whilst he took our orders. My teenage son ordered the chicken, the waiter said "chips" and then without waiting automatically zapped it on his order. "No - I don't like chips" said my son "I want jacket potato". The waiter tutted and amended the order. He then proceeded to do the same to myself and my husband. I ordered steak - medium to well done. I asked for it to be more on the well done side. When our meals arrived, they were not particularly hot - and my steak bled when it was cut into. I couldn't eat it, so called waiter over. He ignored us - and he wasn't busy at all! Eventually I caught another waiter and asked if they could cook the steak more - I liked it well done. He proceeded to bring it back about 3 minutes later and asked me to check and see if it was ok because "the chef wanted to go home and it was 11pm!". The steak was still bloody! I said to take it back. Eventually it came back and it was ok. However the rest of my food was clap cold and also my husband and son had finished their meals. So I sat and ate a hot steak and cold potato and veg on my own...
Getting the bill was a chore in itself - we had to ask 4 times and they made us wait. I think they were hoping we would order more drinks. The waiters were extremeley rude - the food was passable and the floors were dirty! Never again. A shame because we have enjoyed Lanis in previous years in PDC. There are plenty of smaller establishments that have better food, atmosphere and service. I would recommend the italian up from the front, not sure of it's name. You come up from front at Playa Blanca and it is up a few stairs. Not much room outside just a couple of tables or so, but the food is excellent and the staff really friendly. I am out again to PB in April so will check it out again and report back with its name - unless anyone else knows which one I mean? :)

Walker - I think that is it! Him indoors thought it was a little bit pricey, but I don't mind if the food is good and the staff are friendly and obliging - the Tiramisu was to die for!

Used to have lunch in Lani's Grill PB on each trip over, usually on whichever day we went to the market there. Last October 4 of us went in and the three others ordered freshly squeezed orange juice, which is usually €3 in Lani's in PdC. Lunch was fine, but the usual interminable wait for a bill ( as mentioned above) then the shock, €48 for lunch, which included €6 x 3 for the orange. Ok hands up we hadn't looked at the price, but wouldn't have expected it to be DOUBLE the other places. Also found the staff very careless and with a "couldn't care less" attitude. Will most likely not be back.
