Hi All,
Looking for a bit of info, Just booked 5 nights in Puerto Del Carmen from the 6th of January, Been to PDC many times so know it really well, and love it....however have only been in March-August.
Just wondering if anyone know's whether the excursions to timanfaya national park runs in January or any of the other island tours for that matter?! Was just looking up the Glass bottom boat there and that runs all year!
Also whats the weather usually like in Jan?!
Any Info would be amazing....Cheers

Its alright - obviously its not going to be like July and you will get some overcast days but its still going to be v. pleasant. I'm going in feb which is generally the "worst" month but its hardly cold.
I might take 1 jumper!

Weathers usually great. I've been last three new years and first two were bliss but I did glass bottom boat last January from PDC to Fuerta, It was the crappiest day I ever experienced in Lanza and I caught the damn cold, lol. If you're there on the 6th, you should go to Arrecife or Tias (ask at tourist info) and enjoy the 3 king parades (it's a massive parade with loads of floats and bands playing and the highlight are the three wise men on their camels, it starts usually about 7pm. I love been hit in the head with sweets and bickering with Canarian Grandad that he grabbed my sweets. Hire a car and do the Timfanya thing yourself. The roads are great and it's a lot cheaper than an excursion, and you still get to go on a bus around all the volcanoes and afterwards you've got the car and you can see loads of the beautiful isle. Breathtaking

I was in Pdc last Jan and it wasn't the nicest of weeks in fact the month was bad we had a few nice days in the week but there was a lot of rain , all i needed was a light jacket , my parents were there for 3 weeks the same time as us and they had 4 nice days in that time all 4 when we were there , BUT that is a exception been in the winter before and have had temps of 110 on New Years day and 90+ in Jan before last year was teh worst i have ever encountered in almost 30 trips to he island it may have put some off but we have booked for Jan again next year

This is off the wunderground website for 1st January Mean Temperature 16 °C - Max Temperature 19 °C Record Temp 20 °C (1998) Min Temperature 14 °C Record Temp 11 °C (2001) I think it must have been a faulty thermometer and I bet the pool was still freezing in Las Adelfas lol Its rarely been 110 in the summer,, if ever!

We had 35C at 1am when we lived there. Went to sleep in a bed, woke up in a pool. Extremely hot. Ambient temperature is different to direct temperature but certainly been up to 110F+
