Any positive comments from holidays in Lanza in 2009 and previously? What have you done, seen, that has made Lanza special and peoples views of what they hope to see/do in Lanza on holiday in 2010?
Please come on, lets push Lanzarote for the fantastic place it is with so much to see and do, also open up so the FEW scam artists are outed and tourists (old and New) know not to get caught out.
This is LANZAROTEn (Lanza10), come on lets all make 2010 special.

We get consistently positive comments about Playa Blanca - focusing on its family-friendliness, views, safe beaches. I can't remember reading a single holiday review about PB that was negative in the past year. It may still look half-finished in parts, which we all notice, but no-one on holiday seems too bothered about that

I think the most positive thing in 2009 was Ryanair arriving in Lanza. It opened up the island to alot more people that could not afford the huge prices some of the other airlines were charging Well done and may long it continue. And it was great to have the main strip in PDC finished. Plenty of space for walkers

Ditto - budget airlines will make a huge difference especially for the weekend trip market and will also encourage more independent travellers who won't be in the AI camps! Plus you can arrive and leave lanza virtually every day of the week rather than the old Thursday and Sunday (or was it Monday?!!) change over days.
Obviously airlines can pull out as easily as they arrive eg. Air Lingus so its a two edged sword.

The seven day a week flights are a bonus. I can arrive on a Friday depart on a tuesday from Manchester. I use Manchester as it´s cheaper for me to get there than East Midlands, liverpool or Leeds and the tickets are cheaper than Easyjet and Ryanair. Monarch are a great airline. PdC front now looks great and the walk to Arrecife via the coastal pathway is fantastic.

Spent all day on the beach (Caleta de congrio) in Papagayo today. Almost alone there... A solid pluss 25 in the shade (behind a rock) and 20 in the sea, - not a cloud, hazy but with plenty of sun and need for solid factor protection........ Where else in Europe would you be able to experience that in Jan ?

I'll join in with singing the praises of Lanzarote I've been a regular visitor to Lanza for a few years, always staying at Faro Park. Quiet and peaceful place, supermarket, cafe, bakery and a couple of bars within a few minutes walk. Always a friendly welcome at them all. My favourite place for a cocktail or two is La Manea, a gentle 15/20 minute stroll away, a great place to watch the sun setting. Transylvania Restaurant which is also there is great too, huge portions! Going to try the Italian this time around Playa Blanca is a good place for couples or families who want a quieter holiday, although there are still plenty of bars for drinking, watching the footy/rugby or karaoke. Some live music on too. If you go during Carnival time, then you are in for a real treat. Kids and adults will have a great time. Lanzarote is great, especially if you want some winter sun, and only a 4 hour flight from the UK. What's not to like

Lanzarote - particularly Playa Blanca, has everything we want:
Beautiful beaches Year round sunshine. Stunning landscape. Lovely people. Fabulous food. Low crime rate. Hassle free frontline so you can stroll without grief from sellers. A nightlife that's available but not in your face.

As a fairly newish posters I'd like to add my tuppence worth.
Lanza is beautiful, the most friendly and fun place I've ever been (and I've done all The Med/Canaries and a bit of the Caribbean)
You've got the choice of an expensive type holiday where you can live like a star, or a budget kind where you can go for set meals and cheaper pubs - everything is here.
I've been to Playa Blanca (liked it), Costa Teguise (liked it), and Puerto Del Carmen (fell in love with it), yet to have a bad holiday.
I really like the little squares where you can sit in the sun having a beer - and the bars that have balcony's overlooking the beach.
We have different friends that come with us each time, and you can guarantee that they want to come back the following year.
The locals in Lanzarote are the best ever, and appreciate the revenue that us tourists bring in.
One final little bonus, is the magnificent 'Balcony Bar' at Arrecife airport. 5 Euro for a huge jug of Carlsberg, and a final 2 hours sat in the sun cheers you up before you depart to the UK.
